The Rothaarsteig is also affectionately known as the "Path of the Senses". As one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking trails in Germany, it leads from the north-east of the Sauerland over the ridge of the Rothaargebirge to the south of the Haincher Höhe.

In summer, more than 60 actors and 40 horses bring the world-famous Karl May stories to life in Elspe.
As part of the "Schmallenberger Kinderland" family holiday program, there is a lot going on here in the Sauerland, especially during the summer vacation season.
Here the children jump, romp and climb in the indoor playground while mom and dad relax and drink coffee.
Here, big kids can test their limits on a family vacation in the Sauerland - on the huge climbing walls of the climbing hall, in the indoor high ropes course, in the Hologate Arena or in the jumping area. For younger children, there is a giant play paradise next door at Thikos, whether indoor or outdoor, whether ball pool or tube slide, there is plenty of space to let off steam.
